Why it is on a software shelf

Every metadata schema in this module is a small act of the same kind. A Library declares Status, Author, Rating; a Journey declares Period and Place. Each one makes a collection sortable, groupable and searchable, and each one quietly asserts that those are the facts worth keeping.

The Unsorted shelf is the concession. A value the schema does not recognise is kept and shown rather than corrected or dropped, because the alternative is a system that can only hold what it anticipated.
